Rich in the omega 6 fatty acid, gamma linolenic acid (GLA), which is known to influence skin renewal, scurfiness, dryness and coat shine, this liquid is easy to give to even the fussiest pet.
How do I help my pet with dry skin?
Dry, flaky and scurfy skin can make your pet itchy and can get worse at certain times of the year. There can be multiple causes, including a defective moisture barrier, that when functioning normally helps to retain moisture in the skin, dehydration or allergies. Feeding your pet a moist diet and ensuring they always have access to water, together with regular grooming can help, but it can also be beneficial to supplement your pet with essential fatty acids (EFAs) to promote skin and coat condition. Our Evening Primrose Oil Liquid is naturally high in the omega 6 fatty acid, gamma linolenic acid (GLA) which helps maintain skin renewal and moisture retention while supporting a healthy, shiny coat.
Should I use Dorwest Evening Primrose Oil Liquid or Capsules?
Our Evening Primrose Oil Liquid provides an easy way to give this supplement and is perfect for smaller dogs or cats (and even those bigger dogs who refuse tablets/capsules – we all know one!). Both products contain 10% GLA but the liquid allows for the correct amount to be given to smaller pets. With no odour or taste, the liquid can simply be added to food, given directly into the mouth or dropped onto to nose to be licked off for showstopping shine!
What are the other uses for evening primrose oil?
Evening primrose is also well-known for its ability to help maintain a normal hormonal balance, which can otherwise affect behaviour and coat quality. We recommend giving it to all bitches after a season to help restore hormonal balance.
