Beta dog kibble
by Ann -
Have used purina beta before and found it gave my dog great coat condition and being light in fat kept her weight down. Am using beta for my mini schnauzer now to help with weight loss and keep her weight down
Beta light Turkey
My jack russell parsons ddint seem to like this at all. I think the kibbles are too big for her. They would be perfect for a larger dog. She did eat a couple of kibbles but only when they were given as a treat not as her meal. Our 7 month old kitten loved stealing the kibbles and eating them so the food must taste good. Would buy this but choose a smaller kibble
Doggie enjoy them
Our Dog was excited before the box was open, she was sure at first but enjoys eating the Beta Light Turkey
BETA - Light
Firstly I was concerned when I opened the bag as the chunks are quite large in comparison to the brand my 6 year old shih tzu normally has . I was worried that she would find them difficult to eat .
I was so wrong . In fact they are so much better being larger pieces as now she takes her time chewing over each one . This has resulted in a much better digestion and she no longer has loose stools.
I started off by giving her a few as treats and then gradually introduced them into her food over a few days .
My dog loves them and gets very excited when I bring the bag out .
On our recent visit to the vets her weight has also shown a slight decrease. This is amazing as she still has her little treats during the day and the weight loss , although slight is definitely an improvement.
I will be sticking with this one . Thank you !!
My old labrador has been dieting due to being overweight but foods recommended by the vets dont appeal to him, ehile he does eat it, he doesnt look like hes enjoying it. During the beta trial, he really tucked into his food and seemed like he loved it, im really pleased as beta is considerably cheaper than the vets food! Its a winner in our house!
My dog has only been eating these for 2 days but she already shows how much she likes the biscuits by dancing around the kitchen when it's mealtime! I have started by combining a handful of biscuits in with her regular wet food as she never really takes to a dry- only diet.
I feel doing it this way, the biscuits will last a few weeks as she has 2 meals a day.
Overall very happy to have been chosen for this as due to my dog having diabetes, I have to keep her diet consistent, therefore her enjoying and eating all of what I give her is important .
Update 4/10/18. She is still loving these biscuits ,the bowl is always completely empty after her meals. Would definitely try these again .
MY SPRINGER SPANIEL JUST LOVES THIS DRY FOOD
MY SPRINGER SPANIEL DOG PATCH WHO IS 3 YRS OLD HAS ISSUES WITH MANY DOG FOODS, BUT HE JUST LOVES THIS FOOD, AND IT SUITS HIM, I FEED HIM SOME IN THE MORNINGS IN HES KONG WOBBLER AND IN THE EVENINGS , ITS MADE SUCH A BIG DIFFERENCE TO HES COAT, SKIN, TEETH, IN JUST A FEW SHORT WEEKS, OTHER PEOPLE HAVE NOTICED IT TOO AND HES WEIGHT IS JUST IDEAL NOW, HE LOVES THIS FOOD AND WILL CONTINUE TO PURCHASE THIS AS ITS SO SUITABLE FOR HIM AND BEING THE LIGHT ONE IT HELPS KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF MY PATCH, SO HAPPY DOG , HAPPY OWNER! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LETTING US BE PART OF THIS
One Disappointed Cocker Spaniel
My overweight Cocker Spaniel tends to love his food a bit too much and when I first introduced Beta Light Turkey to him, all looked well and he seemed happy to eat it. However, as I gradually introduced more of it into his normal food, as recommended, he became less and less interested and has now reached a point where he leaves his bowl of food untouched for the whole day! Compared to his normal dried dog food, it actually looks quite uninteresting and bland, although I doubt the appearance would have much affect on him, as normally he wolfs his food down so quickly it doesn't touch the sides let alone get a chance to be seen! Perhaps if I was to continue to fed him this he would lose weight as he wouldn't eat so much, although I doubt this is the way it is supposed to work. I am disappointed as it all started out so well, but I am afraid it is just not for Dougal and I am unable to recommend it.
My dog loves this
My dog loves this and eats it all, being two different size biscuits does seem to slow down his eating which is better for digestion. Didn't put on any weight so light is working.
Gave this to my Labrador, she wolfed it down and not a crumb was left.
Downside- she has become a bit 'windy' and she walks off as she can't stand the smell either. Hopefully that will settle down as still have about quarter of the bag left
Thoroughly enjoyed by my Yorkies
I have two adult Yorkies who, since being neutered, have acquired a middle aged spread. I've been toying with the idea of putting them on lighter food for a while now. On the first day they tried the Beta Light they both rolled in the food so I knew it was a hit. They have tried to bury it and save it for later too. The kibble size is perfect and it doesn't hang around in the bowl for long! It smells pretty nice considering its dog food too! I am happy with this food and so are my dogs.
A great food
I have tried this on my slightly overweight dog to see if it could replace her old food but she is taking her time on eating it. It smells good, looks good and is easily digested but for some reason she is not as enthusiastic as I’d like her to be. I will persevere and hopefully it will change over the next few days.
My boy is very fussy when it comes to his food, he is a 7year old GSD rescue. I introduced the BETA food gradually with his regular food and he absolutely loves it. I think I may even buy this instead of the Autarky biscuit he normally has. I've noticed a slight difference to his behaviour too, just goes to show that when the experts tell you it's all about the food.... it's actually true. All natural ingredients definately helps-for the better I might add. I am so glad I got to trial this food for my dog as his well being is all that matters to me. Keep up the good work I say.
I gave my dog the dog biscuits the day they arrived and she has loved them ever since, she isn’t interested in her old biscuits and gets very excited to hear the bag coming out. I will be continuing to use the biscuits as my dog is eating a lot better
Good Food for a healthier diet
Our dog is 2 kilos over weight and since being on the Light variety Turkey flavour. Shes Fed once per day and She’s steadily losing the weight gain from previous food. The biscuits are quite a good size so probably better suited to larger breeds. It’s stops our dog just swallowing them whole so take longer to eat which is a good thing. Had no issues switching with upset stomach etc which has happened before.
I wouldn’t say our dog is a fussy eater but she will let you know if she doesn’t like it. So all in all a good food. Will keep her on it until she loses the extra weight and then maybe use it to maintain and increase the portion size as to combat and more loss. Would recommend
All good so far!
I have 2 Westies; a greedy one and another that isn't very food orientated. I currently feed a mix of wet and dry food using a well known brand, so I have gradually been introducing the Beta product and reducing the amount of the usual one. The biscuits are a lot bigger so I thought one dog might struggle, but no , both have happily munched away. They seem much crunchier, which could be more satisfying for the dogs and potentially better for their teeth? No adverse effects experienced so far in terms of tummies. All in all, a positive trial experience to date and we will happily continue to use the product. Just something to note, as I’ve got towards the bottom of the bag, I’ve noticed fewer large pieces and a lot more smaller size. Must be the way it settles in the bag, but worth bearing in mind and perhaps giving it a shake or stir before scooping out.
I tried this on my little daschund Gyp, he certainly liked it and ate it before his usual food. The downside was he was rather windy and whiffy after each meal! I would feed his this again as I think the wind might settle in time.
My dog often picks at her food throughout the day, but when I placed her food in bowl she wolfed the entire lot down. Unlike some dry dog foods, this food didn't smell bad. I'd happily feed this to my dog more often. The ingredients read well and this appears to be good quality dog food with a good texture and good sized pieces.
Beta by far!
Well my golden Labrador has a very sensitive stomach and trying to find the right brand has been difficult but low & behold I get a freebie & omg my dogs lofe has changed for the better. No more delicate stomach, great strong flavour smell so would highly recommend it
Three Happy Little Cavaliers!!
We have been gradually introducing the Beta food into their dinner over a few days and they love it!! Cavalier King Charles a can be notoriously fussy eaters with a disposition to have upset tummies at the drop of a hat,but so far,we have no problems..they love the taste of the kibble, and I like the fact that it's a light version as we keep a vigilant eye on their weight...We are also beginning to see an improvement in Their poos,It seems a lot firmer,so lot easier to "poo-pick"Bonus!!
Alfie and I both love it!
My 2 year old cockapoo Alfie absolutely loved it. So what you may say. Don't dogs wolf down anything you put in front of them? Mine doesn't, he is extremely fussy about what he will and won't eat.
This, added to the fact that he has a very sensitive stomach makes it tremendously difficult to find foods that he will eat and which don't upset his delicate system. As this product is both light and hypoallergenic I thought I would give this a try without any expectation that it would be eaten and without any ill effects. Well, I'm happy to say it was. Hence the title of this review.
" Happy dog, satisfied customer"
My smallest dog, Milo, has to lose weight so I chose "Purina Beta ligth, turkey flavor".
As soon as he tasted his food, he was delighted.
I must say that it was difficult to please the palate of my demanding boy, since he never liked dry food very much. However since he tried Purina, he enjoys his dinner as if he were not on a diet.
Really goes down well
We decided to try the light version on Tara who is something of a gobbler and needs a little weight control. The dual size kibbles are certainly a success. The larger ones slow her down whilst the smaller ones maintain her interest. She seems to find it tasty and it is a definite improvement on her usual food. We have already decided to try one of the senior varieties on our older dog, Missy. Would certainly recommend others to try this range of dry foods.
My boy is getting a bit lazy and chunky due to his food. This product seems to be lighter on his tummy I believe making him less lethargic and he really enjoys it. He did eat it very quickly! Will definitely consider buying this if he continues to enjoy it over the last few days. Great product.
Filling food for hungry dogs
I asked for the light recipe as my dog has a few extra kilos to lose, she is a very hungry dog and would eat all day if allowed.
She found the aroma of the food very tempting and for the beginning of the trial I opted to give some of the nuggets as treats for a gentle introduction. She accepted these well and did not seem to effect her no 2 s at all.
From day 3 I mixed this with her usual food. I did notice that these pieces are a different shape, most pieces being larger than her usual food. This food is also much drier and crunchier, and takes her longer to eat. However she does shift around in her bowl eating her usual food first , she will then crunch her way through this new food. You can hear the difference! She has not left any , so she does find it palatable certainly. She has acted a little more satisfied and the meal has taken her a little longer to eat.
However, her breath is certainly more smelly!
Interested in looking more into the nutrients of this new food versus her old food and another food which I ant to trial ( which is all-natural).
I am very disappointed with the very high content of wheat, a substance I believe shouldn’t really be a staple in a dogs diet. The meat content is low, and I would prefer to up the meat content instead of the wheat and “filler” type content.
I am not overly impressed therefore. Just due to the listed ingredients as the dog has tolerated the recipe well. The trial so far hasn’t allowed for me to see if the food does allow for any weight loss, due to the time scale.
I will still look into transferring my dog over to the more natural food to see how she settles on that. If she doesn’t for some reason I will reconsider. So, three stars from me, SO far....
