All good so far!

by

I have 2 Westies; a greedy one and another that isn't very food orientated. I currently feed a mix of wet and dry food using a well known brand, so I have gradually been introducing the Beta product and reducing the amount of the usual one. The biscuits are a lot bigger so I thought one dog might struggle, but no , both have happily munched away. They seem much crunchier, which could be more satisfying for the dogs and potentially better for their teeth? No adverse effects experienced so far in terms of tummies. All in all, a positive trial experience to date and we will happily continue to use the product. Just something to note, as I’ve got towards the bottom of the bag, I’ve noticed fewer large pieces and a lot more smaller size. Must be the way it settles in the bag, but worth bearing in mind and perhaps giving it a shake or stir before scooping out.

Dachie approved

by

I tried this on my little daschund Gyp, he certainly liked it and ate it before his usual food. The downside was he was rather windy and whiffy after each meal! I would feed his this again as I think the wind might settle in time.

wolfed down

by

My dog often picks at her food throughout the day, but when I placed her food in bowl she wolfed the entire lot down. Unlike some dry dog foods, this food didn't smell bad. I'd happily feed this to my dog more often. The ingredients read well and this appears to be good quality dog food with a good texture and good sized pieces.

Beta by far!

by

Well my golden Labrador has a very sensitive stomach and trying to find the right brand has been difficult but low & behold I get a freebie & omg my dogs lofe has changed for the better. No more delicate stomach, great strong flavour smell so would highly recommend it

Three Happy Little Cavaliers!!

by

We have been gradually introducing the Beta food into their dinner over a few days and they love it!! Cavalier King Charles a can be notoriously fussy eaters with a disposition to have upset tummies at the drop of a hat,but so far,we have no problems..they love the taste of the kibble, and I like the fact that it's a light version as we keep a vigilant eye on their weight...We are also beginning to see an improvement in Their poos,It seems a lot firmer,so lot easier to "poo-pick"Bonus!!

Alfie and I both love it!

by

My 2 year old cockapoo Alfie absolutely loved it. So what you may say. Don't dogs wolf down anything you put in front of them? Mine doesn't, he is extremely fussy about what he will and won't eat.

This, added to the fact that he has a very sensitive stomach makes it tremendously difficult to find foods that he will eat and which don't upset his delicate system. As this product is both light and hypoallergenic I thought I would give this a try without any expectation that it would be eaten and without any ill effects. Well, I'm happy to say it was. Hence the title of this review.

" Happy dog, satisfied customer"

by

My smallest dog, Milo, has to lose weight so I chose "Purina Beta ligth, turkey flavor".
As soon as he tasted his food, he was delighted.
I must say that it was difficult to please the palate of my demanding boy, since he never liked dry food very much. However since he tried Purina, he enjoys his dinner as if he were not on a diet.

Really goes down well

by

We decided to try the light version on Tara who is something of a gobbler and needs a little weight control. The dual size kibbles are certainly a success. The larger ones slow her down whilst the smaller ones maintain her interest. She seems to find it tasty and it is a definite improvement on her usual food. We have already decided to try one of the senior varieties on our older dog, Missy. Would certainly recommend others to try this range of dry foods.

Brilliant

by

My boy is getting a bit lazy and chunky due to his food. This product seems to be lighter on his tummy I believe making him less lethargic and he really enjoys it. He did eat it very quickly! Will definitely consider buying this if he continues to enjoy it over the last few days. Great product.

Filling food for hungry dogs

by

I asked for the light recipe as my dog has a few extra kilos to lose, she is a very hungry dog and would eat all day if allowed.
She found the aroma of the food very tempting and for the beginning of the trial I opted to give some of the nuggets as treats for a gentle introduction. She accepted these well and did not seem to effect her no 2 s at all.
From day 3 I mixed this with her usual food. I did notice that these pieces are a different shape, most pieces being larger than her usual food. This food is also much drier and crunchier, and takes her longer to eat. However she does shift around in her bowl eating her usual food first , she will then crunch her way through this new food. You can hear the difference! She has not left any , so she does find it palatable certainly. She has acted a little more satisfied and the meal has taken her a little longer to eat.
However, her breath is certainly more smelly!
Interested in looking more into the nutrients of this new food versus her old food and another food which I ant to trial ( which is all-natural).
I am very disappointed with the very high content of wheat, a substance I believe shouldn’t really be a staple in a dogs diet. The meat content is low, and I would prefer to up the meat content instead of the wheat and “filler” type content.
I am not overly impressed therefore. Just due to the listed ingredients as the dog has tolerated the recipe well. The trial so far hasn’t allowed for me to see if the food does allow for any weight loss, due to the time scale.
I will still look into transferring my dog over to the more natural food to see how she settles on that. If she doesn’t for some reason I will reconsider. So, three stars from me, SO far....

Mad for food !

by

Darcey was so different when she lost her lifelong best friend, 15 year old Mr Bert, she always eats up her light food, which she has been having since being rehomed and then spayed, some 18 months ago. Well, she even tried to grab the bag, when it arrived ! she LOVES the new food and woofs it down, literally, a really great find , thank Beta !

Absolutely love love love

by

For so long now I have been searching for a product that is both light and tasty for my dogs. My female is so fussy on light food that every other light product we have got her she’ll eat but it would take her forever. She loved this food and over the last couple of days has really convinced me that it something I should permanently buy. Very happy and they’ve got themselves a new customer! Thank you!!

Beta turkey light

by

Only 2 days in on this food my staffie snix is not too keen have had to mix with her other food then tried it on its own not too happy added grated cheese to it still only eaten small amount but early days will keep trying smells nice light in texture see how it goes

YUM

by

Well, to be fair, Hatti a 7 year old springer isn't a fussy eater. There are few foods she has met and not liked. However, some have had dire results. A well known highend kibble gave her such bad dirreoeah I had to give the bag to my neighbour for his dog... £40n worth of food. Another gave her horrendous wind.. She was not good to live with! Hatti has been eating this for about 2 days now. No tummy troubles, no wind. It doesn't have a strong smell that some kibbbles have. She wolfs her meals down as she always does. The only thing that I have noticed is that she is drinking more water, which is a good thing. I find with this food, I need to give her more than I did with her other food. With her previous food a mug full was the measured amount recommended, but with this one, the recommended amount comes to about just under a mug and a half. Which probably pleases hatti as she gets more to eat!

Beta Light dog food

by

My dog couldn’t wait to get at this food. As soon as I had received it from the delivery driver he kept sniffing the package. As I removed the bag from the box he became more excited. I let him try a few pieces as a treat which he scoffed down and begged for more. I had to put it out in the shed as he kept whining. Later in the evening I gave him more for his dinner. It disappeared extremely fast. Have been feeding him this for a few days now and he appears to love it and no negative effects of a change in diet.

My dog Bella and dads 2

by

My Labrador is the pickiest and thought we’d try her on the Beta light dog food and thought while she’s having some share with dads dogs too they loved it so much not a crumb in site and licking there lips for tomorrow’s food, as I said earlier I have a Labrador so it has to pass the Labrador taste test and sniff test and passed all of it would highly recommend to anyone who has a dog that’s picky fussy or a dog that loves Beta biscuits
Ps this is the seriously hurry up and serve face from my Labrador bella

Definitely enjoyed

by

My dog is very fussy when it comes to new food. She will leave food if she doesn't like it and walk away from her dish. Luckily this wasn't the case with the Beta Light and she ate it right up. She has only been trying it for a short time but loves it. I think this is possibly down to the flavour and the fact that the kibble is different sizes for her so not mundane to munch on and actually helps to slow her down when eating. The pack states quite a few health benefits too which I would always keep an eye out for when purchasing dog food, to help keep my dog healthy and her tummy trim. I liked that this product wasn't too smelly and was easy to open. The bag was just the right size for the cupboard and handy for lifting. It also felt like it was made from a recycled material. The food was quite dark in colour compared to what she normally eats. I liked that the product has no artificial colours so this is perhaps why and it has no artificial flavours or preservatives. It's 20 percent less fat too and has very pulp to improve firm stools and regulation. It's a thumbs up from my doggy as there wasn't a drop left not he occasions that she has had it so far. We will keep going with it since she likes it so much. We are grateful to try this product and it's lovely to see her wagging her tail when eating it. She gets excited when I pour it in her dish. :) I woulf reccomend to my friends especially since there is a wide variety of flavours and so forth based on your dogs needs and likes

My Dog LOVES it!

by

My dog is loving Beta Light Turkey. He’s not normally fussed about his biscuits and will just eat them as and when but since using the Beta he’s there as soon as the bowl goes down and wolfs the lot!
Double thumbs up from Dash!!

Very happy dog!

by

My dog Dexter who is a sprocker is in day 4 of trying this beta light and is loving it!!! I feed him the recommended weight of biscuits for his weight and it seemed rather a lit at first in his bowl but this is the first time that I have followed the instructions! Dexter is quite an active spaniel but is also getting older and is quite a chunky dog so the light seemed the perfect choice. He loves it and the different sized biscuits are perfect for him as it offers variety and encourages him to chew the biscuits rather than just swallow everything whole! He has had no problems with this product and his digestion seems ok and he also is not begging for food like he normally does. Will be thinking about changing to beta fully in the future.

Turkey light

by

Started giving my dog the light - turkey 2 days ago and she loves it! Too early to say if it will keep her weight under control however she can be very picky but certainly seems to like this one!

Beta dry dogs food

by

Both of my dogs husky and chihuahua loves the new dry food. Especially my chihuahua Milo he is very fussy eater but he likes Beta dry food. I am very happy about it.

Not for my Lab

by

Packaging is nice and size of the food is decent. My Lab was eager to wolf it down but then he eats literally anything. While my dog did seem to enjoy it, it reeked havoc on his bowls and he passed a lot of gas whilst on it. Did need to go to the toilet more and seemed to be much more hungry on it. The food doesn’t have a strong smell to it which is always good as some foods can really smell. Now this could all be down to the fact it was a change of food that caused all the above so I’d say try it and see if your experience is different.

Beta is not better

by

Neither of my dogs got on with this product. Even the one that will eat ANYTHING.
Although it states “with turkey” it’s only 4% of the “meat” content . It’s Meat and animal derivatives- which basically means any meat and any part of an animal . Not good if your dog has allergies to certain meats. It also includes vegetable derivatives (peelings or roots and anything that we would normally throw away even if giving to animals) . If the first ingredient is “ cereal” and the meat is mainly unknown it’s not the best nutrition for the dog. ( avoid if your dog has a delicate stomach)
However, if this is within your budget then there are worse foods out there than Beta.

Light turkey

by

Beta has been a great dog food I have a westie who is over weight and suffers from IBS this food was brilliant didn’t upset her tummy at all and she loved the taste wonderful food can’t recommend it enough

Rosie loves it!

by

Wow my dog is normally fussy with turkey flavoured food but she absolutely loves this! I have to try and slow her down because she wolfs the lot! Hopefully she has still lost weight when we go to her follow up appointment st the vets next week!
